BOOK (in person or online)

Alex is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the AASW, and an expert in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), complex trauma and risky behaviours.

She loves to work with complex situations and especially people who have lost faith in therapy or the mental health system. She has a strong anti-stigma approach and thrives in working long-term with teens and adults wanting real, life-long changes. She believes the therapeutic relationship is key to any healing and offers her full self to the role of your therapist.

Alex engages in this deep, transformational work with a variety of folks (aged 13+) who have been burnt by their past mental health experiences and are open to giving it another go. Alex does her best work with these folks who feel they have tried lots of things to improve their mental health but feel that nothing has really worked. Alex holds the hope that for people who want long-term change and who are willing to put in the time to get it, that change is entirely possible and achievable.

Alex is also currently completing a Masters in Mindfulness Meditation Teaching at Berkley, California.

Alex and her team offer individual, group, online and in-person services, as well as several self-paced online programs.

Alex is passionate about delivering evidence-based treatment to individuals and training to the sector. Her clinical focus includes borderline personality disorder, deliberate self-harm, suicidality, and complex trauma, for adolescents and adults. Beyond clinical practice, Alex is deeply committed to advocacy and reducing stigma for people experiencing mental health challenges, particularly around self-harm and advancing best practice in the mental health field.
