Supervision.
Holistic supervision for individual, group and organisational wellbeing.
You deserve your own space outside of your practice or organisation that is just for you.
Quality supervision is not line management. In healthy, often external, supervision you can openly share the challenges of the work (and life) and how it might be affecting you without fear of workplace repercussions. It is a decompressing, validating and learning environment. Here it is important to feel supported and that you are not alone in these feelings, challenges and worries. We all experience some degree of imposter syndrome and our inner-critic pipes up at the most unhelpful times. To learn from one another and extend support in a non-competitive, non-hierarchical way is one of the most collegial offerings we can provide to our fellow practitioners.
Worker wellbeing is directly correlated to client wellbeing.
Vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and burnout can be subtle and sneaky. None of us are immune to this risk. With early awareness and regular externalising of the internal struggle, you can develop a sustaining, thriving and meaningful career. We believe this should be part of our regular dialogue and work towards de-stigmatising this for workers. Vicarious trauma and burnout do not mean you have failed to look after yourself properly and that you simply “can’t deal with it”. Vicarious trauma and burnout predominantly speaks to the broader systems and ecological impacts upon us as workers that are insufficient, underpaid, poorly structured, and understaffed to cope with the human services and wellbeing sector.
As with our therapeutic services, we offer a safe, nurturing and confidential space where you can share and unpack your working experiences and/or lived experiences. This can include present issues, ethical dilemmas, debriefing incidences as well as deeper matters that you notice arising in your daily practice.
Jen’s background has included providing supervision and mentoring to social work students, early career social workers, youth workers, human services workers more broadly, and workers in specific settings such as domestic violence, housing and homelessness, mental health, neighbourhood centres, legal centres, child safety, education, alcohol and drug services, and women's counselling.
More recently, Jen provides supervision to Team Leaders, Management, Policy Makers, Doctors and mid-career professionals who are either considering burnout prevention, lifestyle balance or career changes that align with their authenticity and values.
You are the driver of your supervision and there’s a general expectation that you’d come prepared with matters of concern to you, or a willingness to organically explore.
Our unique approach to professional support and supervision, is based on the premise that we are inseparable as humans. We cannot ever fully separate home and work life or home and work selves. Often in human services and social sectors, the practitioner is the tool; it is the ‘use of self’ that activates change and help in people’s lives. This makes the stakes even higher and the urgency to intervene and maintain wellness for ourselves, even more paramount.
Our unique approach weaves personal and professional, home and work, light and shadow. We encourage and focus on integration.

Group Supervision can be beneficial for many reasons. Here, workers can be heard, understood, guided, validated, supported, and reassured. Group Supervision offers a space for peer coaching and feedback, social networking, clinical case reflections, ethical dilemma exploration, modelling, observational learning, skills building, resourcing, emotional support, and often most importantly, a sense that you are not alone. The nature of the work of human services industries can take its’ toll. The helper-therapy principle applies not only to support/therapy groups, but also to group supervision. Having a Supervisor that really gets that and who can facilitate a supportive and growth oriented group, can make the world of difference.
Group Supervision requires the Supervisor to contribute a greater amount of preparation and planning, thus rates are adjusted accordingly, but remain affordable for organisations in the sector. Group Supervision ideally includes participants who are voluntary attendees, even if arranged by their organisation, and thus have a reasonable amount of input and ownership in the process. Group Supervision traditionally involves workers from one or more teams within the same organisation, however if you are a lone social worker or allied health professional in need of collegial and collaborative support, please contact directly. Group Supervision would not usually involve professionals who are being seen individually by the same Supervisor, as this increases the pressure of biases/ risks occurring, however this will continue to be decided on a case by case basis.
