Other Policies.
Today the world uses Social Media as a connection platform. You will notice that I have a link to my professional LinkedIn account. WILD CALM THERAPIES PTY LTD does not use any other social media platform. To be authentic and transparent I outline my personal and professional policies in relation to the use of Social Media, contact and my code of conduct.
Social Media & Friend Requests
I do not currently or actively use any social media platform. If this were ever to change, as a rule, I do not accept current or former clients as friends on any social media platform, as it can blur the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship. The issue of privacy and the possibility of compromising your confidentiality is something I take seriously.
Contacting Me
If you want to contact me to ask me a question about a blog, an appointment or an upcoming event, please call, text message or email me directly at the details on the contact page. Please do not attempt contact by social media platforms other online means of engaging, as it can compromise your confidentiality. I do not engage with clients via DM (direct messaging) on any of the social media platforms and will respectfully redirect anyone to the email address should they attempt to connect with me in that manner.
If you need to contact me between sessions, the best way to do so is by my mobile telephone 0422 500 006 or email at jen@jenwiedman.com
If I am with a client or unavailable, please leave a message and I will endeavour to get back to you within 2 working days. Please note that I currently work part-time and as a general rule do not respond to work-related enquiries over the weekend or after 7pm.
As per our client contract, if I am unavailable, any serious mental health concerns should be directed to either Lifeline (13 11 14), Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) or in emergency situations 000.
Contacting You
In the event of a crisis or unexpected event, there may be the need for me to contact a client via the main details you have provided. If this is unsuccessful, I would attempt to contact you emergency contact or next of kin as nominated, and/or the GP contact you have provided. Should these be unsuccessful, if required, I would call 000 to arrive at your location or house. This would only ever be done if there were serious concerns about your safety or the safety of others.
Out and About
There may be times when we see each other out of session in public settings. To maintain your privacy and safety, I make it a practice not to initiate or approach you. If you see me and want to say hello, I will warmly reciprocate. You are welcome to share with family and friends that I am your therapist, but this needs to come from you, not me, and depends entirely on your individual safety circumstances. So please do not be offended if you see me and I do not acknowledge you. I would be happy to debrief with you about this during a subsequent session if you would like.
Code of Conduct
I pride myself on working within the guidelines of the code of ethics and practice standards, as set out by the AASW.
Applying the code of ethics not only applies to my work, but to my everyday values. My personal ethics include love, authenticity, compassion, acceptance and professionalism.
